About the Riner Club Riner Ruritan Club is proud to be an organization of positive people doing positive things in our community. Ruritan members work to enhance the quality of life through community service and to make our community a better place to live and work. We also enjoy fellowship through our monthly meetings. Some of our activities are listed below. 1) Organizing Riner Heritage Day and parade in conjunction with the Riner Museum. 2) Awarding scholarships. 3) Sponsoring eagle scout activities. 4) Sponsoring roadside clean-up as part of Broomin’ and Bloomin’. 5) Supporting rescue squad and fire department, Hunters for the Hungry, Habitat for Humanity, Montgomery County Community Cannery, etc. 6) Partnering for SHARE distribution. 7) Assisting the elderly and shut-ins through donation of SHARE baskets. We thank the Riner Fire Department for allowing us to use their facility for meetings. The Station is located on the west side of US Route 8, just south of the Riner community(4171 Riner Road, Riner, VA 24149). We meet the 2nd Monday of the month at 6:30 pm. |
